In a regulated room the floor is one of the easiest things for an inspector to write up, and one of the most disruptive things to fix afterwards.
GMP guidance is explicit about sealed, smooth, unbroken surfaces and sealed joints between walls, ceilings and floors. That makes it one of the simplest observations to write and one of the hardest to argue with.
You cannot validate the cleaning of a surface that has open joints, porous patches and 90 degree corners in it. Geometry beats chemistry here every time.
Taking a production or clinical room out of service is the largest cost in the whole project by a wide margin. That is precisely why cure time should drive the system choice.
A monolithic floor blistering six months after qualification is not a repair. It is a shutdown, a deviation and a re-validation.

Hamilton has the oldest industrial building stock of the three. Bayfront and East Hamilton slabs are frequently mid-century, poured without a vapour retarder, finished with a shake-on hardener and carrying decades of oil and coolant. That is a prep problem before it is a coating problem. Red Hill, Ancaster and the airport lands are newer and far more straightforward.
Hamilton adds one more variable, which is that a good share of this work happens in buildings that were never designed for it. A lab or a licensed production room fitted into older industrial stock inherits whatever the slab was doing before, and the honest sequence is to prove the concrete before the room design is locked. We have tested slabs in Hamilton that needed mitigation nobody had budgeted for, and finding that at design stage is a line item, while finding it after commissioning is a shutdown.
Health Canada's GMP guidance is specific about surfaces: seal porous materials, keep them hard, smooth and free of sharp corners where material can collect, seal the joints between walls, ceilings and floors, and screen and trap floor drains. Most of that is geometry, not chemistry, which is why coving and terminations get more of our attention than the topcoat does.

A cleanroom is classified to ISO 14644 by an accredited testing body after commissioning, not by its floor. And disinfectant resistance, whether that is vaporised hydrogen peroxide, iodophors, bleach or phenolics, has to come off the specific product's chemical resistance chart, because there is no generic figure. We install to your spec and hand over documentation. We do not manufacture certifications.
